Implant Treatment

What is an implant?

Dental deficiencies have a significant negative impact on both aesthetics and health in human life. Over time, tooth gaps can lead to increased aesthetic problems as other teeth shift towards the gaps, followed by weakened chewing function and digestive problems. To address these issues, implants, dentures, and bridges can be chosen as solutions. However, bridges and dentures can cause pressure on the gum tissue and jawbone, leading to jawbone resorption over time. Instead, implants, which provide a more permanent and healthier solution, can be preferred. Implants are made of titanium alloy, biocompatible materials that completely harmonize with the gum tissue.

How Is Implant Made?

  • A detailed intraoral examination is conducted along with X-rays and/or tomography.
  • After bone measurements are taken with radiography, implants and prosthetics are planned to fit the patient’s oral structure.
  • Prior to implants, necessary treatments such as dental cleaning, gum treatments, fillings, and root canal therapy may be performed as deemed necessary by the dentist.
  • An appropriate implant is selected for the missing tooth area, and the procedure is planned accordingly.
  • During the implant procedure, the area to receive the implant is numbed with local anesthesia.
  • Gum tissues are opened to expose the bone area.
  • Surgical holes are drilled into the bone for the placement of the implants.
  • Placement procedures are completed for each implant in an average procedure time of 20 minutes.
  • Sutures are placed in the areas where the implants are inserted.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Implant

X-rays and/or tomography are taken to measure the patient's bone structure and determine the suitability for implant placement. Based on this evaluation, the appropriate type of implant is selected, and a treatment plan is created. The patient is prepared for the procedure under local anesthesia, and the implant placement process is carried out. After an average healing period of 90 days, the procedures are completed, and the final restoration prosthetics are placed.
