Laminated Veneer

What is Laminate Coating?

Veneers, especially applied to the front teeth, are very thin aesthetic coverings. The tooth surface is reduced by 0.3mm – 0.7mm, and these veneers, also known as porcelain laminates or leaf porcelain, are extremely thin but reinforced with modern technologies. These leaf-shaped coverings do not contain metal and provide a highly natural appearance due to their light-transmitting structure.

Laminate veneers, which can be preferred as an alternative to zirconium, as a significant portion of the teeth is reduced during the application, offer a highly natural and aesthetic appearance, just like zirconium veneers, thanks to their high light-transmitting property.

Known as “lamine kaplama” or “lamina kaplama” in Turkish, leaf veneers have become one of the most popular applications in dental aesthetics today.

Laminated Dental Veneers Types

Currently, 3 different laminated tooth coating applications are performed. These applications are;

  • Leaf porcelain tooth
  • Leaf zirconium
  • Composite lamina

The common feature of all Laminated Dental Veneer applications is their robustness and aesthetic appearance. Laminated coated teeth, which are produced in an extremely impact-resistant structure and supported by modern bonding techniques, last for many years. The most natural appearance is provided with the coating color selected from a wide range of colors, including the person’s own tooth color, and thanks to its smooth structure, it also prevents plaque formation on it over time.

  5. If deemed necessary by the dentist, minimal tooth preparation is performed using special drills.
  6. Measurements are taken for the teeth that will receive the veneers, and models are created.
  7. Taking into account the color of all teeth, the color of the laminate veneers is determined.
  8. In a laboratory environment, porcelain is processed on the models obtained from measurements to create the veneers.
  9. Once the production process is completed, the laminate veneers are placed on the patient’s teeth for a trial fit. Any necessary adjustments are made during the trial process.
  10. After the trials are completed, the laminate veneers are bonded to the tooth surfaces using adhesive techniques.
